Mindy quickly went into action and began CPR while in the back of the car. She performed CPR for around 20 minutes before medics arrived.
Mindy went out to see a patient who had just been released from the hospital. This patient was at home with her son as her caregiver, because her husband was also hospitalized at the time. During Mindy's visit, she quickly realized that this patient was in distress based on her assessment, and called the patient's MD office to report her findings. She then instructed the son to take his mom to the emergency room per the MD request.
While Mindy was helping this patient get into the son's vehicle and buckled, the patient coded. Mindy quickly went into action and began CPR while in the back of the car. She performed CPR for around 20 minutes before medics arrived. She then followed up and went to the ER with the son at the request of an officer to be able to help with questions should it be needed.
Mindy performed an outstanding task, and I feel as though she was placed there at the time for a reason so that the son would not have had to experience that on his own, or worse, while he may have been driving his mom back to the ER.
