Rachel's natural, caring personality was genuine and provided great support to us both, she has a calming presence which on more than one occasion was a great comfort.
Rachel supported me as a family carer in many ways, for example; liaising with hospital departments, social services, and my sister's residence. While my sister was in the hospital, Rachel supported both my sister and myself by speaking with various hospital professionals about the care being given, and at times when things were not being resolved, she persisted in getting the right person to help and provide the right care. Rachel also gave information about PALS and did speak with this team on my sister's behalf, the situation was resolved because of her input. If Rachel said she would get back to me she always did with either a phone call or email, as I do not live near the hospital this was invaluable.
Rachel throughout provided confidence and reassurance to both sister and myself. Her natural, caring personality was genuine and provided great support to us both, she has a calming presence which on more than one occasion was a great comfort. Rachel's help and support have been invaluable, she really made a difference, so lovely with my sister getting to know her as a person, what she liked and what she feared so that she could reassure her in the best possible way. I cannot thank her and the team enough at what has been a very stressful time for my sister and myself.
Added comments from Trust Lead for Disabilities and Autism: I also have lots of glowing comments about Rachel going above and beyond in her appraisal feedback. For context, this is a particularly challenging time for people with LD, Autistic people, and their carers- and our caseload is bigger than ever. Despite having multiple and conflicting demands on her time Rachel has continued to display outstanding compassionate care.
