When my husband and I welcomed our son into the world he was taken almost immediately to NICU after his birth. It was devastating to me. He is my firstborn and everything I wanted in my "birth plan" did not occur. I was so scared for him as they took him away and I was left to wait and find out how he was doing while my epidural wore off. He ended up spending the first 4 days of his life in NICU. One nurse, in particular, Jaime made his stay easier. She was so friendly and helpful. My husband and I were completely exhausted as we would waddle into the NICU in the middle of the night to feed and check on our baby. And there would be Jaime, smiling and welcoming us. She would update us immediately on our son and we knew he was safe with her. She was gentle with him and kept us updated on his health improvements and anything that had occurred since the last time we had stopped by. She also gave him his first bath and did an excellent job with his footprints! Thank you for being amazing Jaime!
