A few days later and I'm still thinking about this, so I felt I need to express thanks. There was an emergency procedure that had to be done. There was no time to wait for an assistant to come in and I was the only physician available. Enter Kristine. I don't know if she was "ordered" to do so or if she just drew the short straw, or if she volunteered. She stepped in to help me. With all the activity going on around us I remember her saying to me that she had not done this before but she would do whatever I needed, just guide her. That allowed a release of some of the pressure and I was able to better focus on the task at hand. She did not flinch when things got going. She was very attentive to the instructions given, had a calm demeanor, and showed NO FEAR. The entire team did an exceptional job of caring for the patient in an expedient and safe manner. I would like to formally and sincerely express my gratitude for the amazing work that Kristine did for me and most importantly, for the patient.
