Brenda, who was off that day, heard of the accident on the radio and reported to MSLC with scrubs in hand, asking how she could assist.
Brenda truly embodies the spirit of Magnet Nursing and is extremely deserving of recognition. Brenda practices with empathy and exhibits true selflessness. Recently, the MSLC Emergency Department received multiple patients from an MVC that included two critically injured patients and several school-aged children needing medical attention. Brenda, who was off that day, heard of the accident on the radio and reported to MSLC with scrubs in hand, asking how she could assist. At this point, the Hospital had activated a HICCS level 2. The need for two nurses to manage critical trauma patients placed a strain on our department's resources. Brenda's response shows her commitment to this organization, her peers, and our patients. Her presence on this challenging morning ensured that the Emergency Department could continue to function and that all of our patients could continue to receive exceptional patient care without delay.
