Cynthia took care of my mom in Recovery and she was beyond wonderful. She provided me with thorough education and all the proper supplies I would need to get my mom home and care for her after discharge. Cynthia not only provided nursing care as if mom were her own mother, she repeatedly asked me if I needed anything, offering beverages and snacks. My mom was understandably in pain and extremely nauseated from the anesthesia, to the point where she was unable to keep fluids down. Cynthia contacted the attending and gave my mom everything possible to ease her suffering. Recognizing that my mom is older and therefore at greater risk for dehydration, when her N/V persisted after all measures taken, Cynthia contacted the doctor's resident and was able to have my mom admitted for the night. I'm pretty sure that Cynthia had to work overtime to ensure a safe transfer of care, as mom was admitted until 8:30 pm. As she was wheeled away to her room, Cynthia gave my mom a reassuring hug and a kiss on her head, which just exemplified her level of caring. Mere words cannot express how impressed I am with Cynthia and how grateful I am that she was there for us.I'm happy to report that now my mom is feeling much better and we're awaiting her discharge.
