My sister was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The doctor wanted to discharge her the next morning before any further testing was done or any plan in place to change her living situation. Shawn intervened to allow her regular doctor and the family to formulate a plan for her care. It allowed time for all her scans to be done and for the family to grieve and get her moved into my home, as she was too weak to go back to her residence.
