I am a very grateful two-time breast cancer survivor and a patient who has received exemplary care at Broward Health Imperial Point. I had a great experience with Ruby. Understandably, I was very nervous undergoing my bilateral mastectomy and Ruby's warm, compassionate care coupled with her sense of humor put me at ease. I was with Ruby for many hours that day, between sentinel node biopsy and the surgical schedule running late, and Ruby postponed her lunch break so she could stay with me. Right before I was taken into surgery, Ruby joined hands in prayer with me and my friends. The last thing I remember is Ruby holding me, with my head on her shoulder as the anesthesiologist administered the epidural.
When I arrived for my tissue expander exchange surgery a few months later, I was so delighted to learn that I was going to be in her care again. It was like greeting an old friend!
