Just 3 days after having a cancerous tumor removed from my bladder, we needed to return to St. Charles ER. A sonogram confirmed blood clots in my leg. I was admitted to begin treatment. That's when Kim Reitzel came into my life as my nurse. She was also training a young RN, Jamie.
I am not normally ill, so I don't spend much time in a hospital, so I felt a bit overwhelmed with what might be next. Kim made sure to explain everything she was doing, for both our sake and for Jamie.
Kim spent time just getting to know me and made me feel more at ease. She shared information about my condition and the new meds I would be taking. She never made us feel like we were asking silly or too many questions. Kim certainly helped make sure my stay was more bearable. She is also a great training nurse.
Kim is a wonderful nurse and wonderful person. If the young nurses she trains are half as good as she is, they too will be wonderful nurses!
