My husband had his gallbladder removed. He has never had surgery and did not know what to expect. He was more than a little anxious; we both were. When the surgery was completed, he was transported to the 5thfloor where he would begin his recovery. There we were greeted by Sherry, his nurse. From the moment he was transferred to his bed, we knew he was in good hands. The floor was very busy with a lot of patients being brought up from surgery, but Sherry never once made us feel like we weren't important or she didn't have time to care for my husband. She was very efficient and was great with explaining how my husband was going to begin his recovery. When you have never been through an experience like this, you have a lot of questions and concerns and Sherry was amazing in taking the time to explain everything to us from when he would be able to get out of bed to managing his pain. She never missed a beat and her kindness and professionalism made all the difference in his healing. It really is hard to put into words how grateful we are and how special Sherry is as a nurse. When I left the hospital, I knew I didn't have a thing to worry about. I came back in the morning awaiting his discharge. Sherry was no longer his nurse, but she took the time to stop in and wish us well. I gave her a big hug and told her again how grateful we were for her care. Thank you Sherry, for what you did for my husband!
