Andi Loucks showed wonderful, compassionate care for a young patient experiencing kidney stones. The patient was brought to the hospital by a sibling because her parents were at work. The patient's anxiety level was very high without her parents being present. This is what she stated in her email sent to Children's:
"This morning I woke up with my second kidney stone in the last month. Both of my parents were at work, so my brother was the one who drove me to CHOA. Once we arrived, we were treated very quickly and everyone was super sweet and understanding. Having kidney stones really isn't fun, but I was so lucky to have Andi as my nurse. My care has always been fabulous, but I can easily say that Andi is the sweetest nurse I've ever had. She was so kind, caring, and compassionate. She did everything she could to make sure I was comfortable and as happy as possible. She frequently checked on me and sometimes just had conversations with me. It was obvious that she was really passionate about her work and cared that I got better. I really think she was born to be a nurse. Anyone would be lucky to have Andi Loucks as a nurse; she really is the best."
