Ellen Noshahi is a "super" nurse who possesses the "super human" abilities that exemplifies Saint Joseph Hospital's high standards and excellence in patient care. Ellen has a firm, yet gentle nature in handling and interacting with my mother while assisting and teacher her during recovery. She remained positive and provided constant encouragement with any small progress made by my mother. My mother responded very well by improving her abilities with each activity. Not only was Ellen great with my mother, she consistently answered thoroughly any questions or concerns of our family. She answered questions in an easy to understand manner without becoming inpatient or agitated with our family's "hands-on" presence. For example, she explained the various medications and their purposes as well as equipment used by my mother. Most importantly, Ellen possesses that "something" or the "gift" to communicate and listen to her patients with a very nice healing presence or demeanor. This is all in addition to her nursing competence. For example, she recognized my mother required a bit more oversight or attention, given her condition and nature. She would also possibly make a recommendation to the doctor of a possible adjustment in medication after I would bring up certain reactions by my mother to medications. Finally, we were fortunate to have Ellen for several consecutive days. After my mother's first day, my mother commented, "What a great nurse." Saint Joseph Hospital is lucky to have Ellen. We would happily return to this hospital and recommend it to our friends. Thank you, Ellen, and as you would often say about my mom's ability to improve - "Heck Yea!"; I say heck yea, you're a super nurse!
