I was recently a patient in the Intensive Care Unit due to a ruptured brain aneurysm. Thanks be to God, I'm alive and experiencing a slow but miraculous recovery. I'm writing because I think it is important you know how wonderful Ginel Gordon and Faith Deferio are; they are the epitome of nursing. There is no doubt in my mind that you already know what wonderful people they are. I wanted to email you and give you a patient's perspective on the two of them and reinforce how amazing Ginel and Faith are. Both Ginel and Faith are incredible, genuine, dedicated, intelligent and charismatic individuals; I am so grateful to have been under their care.
I spent 16 days in ICU. I had bad, mediocre and a few good days. Lucky for me, I fell into a rotation where I went from being under Ginel's care to Faith's care. These days were my best days in the ICU; both physically and mentally. To go from Ginel's hands to Faith's hands felt amazing! Their care put both my family and me at ease. Ginel and Faith were not only good to me but my family as well. In fact, once they got to know the two of them my family became comfortable leaving me alone a few hours at time; something they refused to do upon my initial admittance into the ICU. I have countless examples of how these women cared for me and I'm confident this is the case for all their patients.
Both Ginel and Faith went above and beyond for me. They were incredibly knowledgeable about my condition. They took the time to get to know me. They were punctual with my medication. I could go on for days about how professional and caring Ginel and Faith are. The two of them are the quintessential nurse, your unit is incredibly lucky to have them; they are a tremendous asset to the Intensive Care Unit.
