Judy is a wonderful nurse. She likes to be very aware of who her patients will be and what is going on with them, she shows up early in the morning and looks them up before huddle to get a good understanding of what is going on with. She is always on top of her call lights and helping other people when needed.
Judy had a patient who was getting very anxious about having to wait for her oxygen. She was getting frustrated and started raising her voice at Judy. Judy told the patient how sorry she was and unfortunately sometimes oxygen takes a while to be delivered. Judy called case management to see if they had any insight to when the oxygen would be delivered. While on the phone with case management, the patient received a phone call from the oxygen company who told her that they would be delivering to her housein an hour. The patient was very upset and thought they were dropping the O2 she needed to leave at her house as well, so she started getting upset again. Judy calmed her down and called the oxygen company to make sure the patient would be delivered oxygen. They did eventually bring the O2 and the patient was released home. Judy still felt a little uneasy about the phone call that patient had gotten and decided to stop at the patient's house after work to make sure they had gotten all the proper equipment needed. When Judy arrived at the patients, the oxygen company was there setting up the oxygen. Judy went above and beyond and made sure the patient was safe even after being discharged. She shows compassion every day, and she always puts the patients' needs first. She is a great addition to our team and we are very lucky to have her!
