Extraordinary, compassionate, calming, and amazing are only a few words that could describe my nurse Whitney. I was admitted right before my first ever surgery to 12East Tower and Whitney was my oncoming nurse. Having surgery and not knowing what to expect can make someone more than anxious and scared. Whitney went above and beyond calming me and showing the compassion of an extraordinary nurse. The morning of surgery, she sat with me in my room until they came to transport me to preop. She also walked down with transport with me to make sure everything went as smooth as it could. To me, she showed great compassion at this point and every moment leading to. She rounded on me before that morning to make sure all my questions were answered and to see if there was anything she could do for me or get for me. After surgery I was sad not to have Whitney as my nurse throughout my stay. She continued to show compassion by checking in on me the next 2 days I was in ICU by paying me visits. She is more than just a nurse, she is an extraordinary nurse and Rush is lucky to have her! Thank you for your amazing care, Whitney!
