I almost lost it. I was on NBM (nothing by mouth, not even water) for over 15 hours in preparation for this TEE procedure. I threatened to check myself out of the hospital if I could not get some immediate answers to this unacceptable situation.
Because of Mayte's compassionate and professional demeanor, she went to work to get the appropriate doctors involved. I was very impressed with the way she remained calm and focused on what had to be done.
The various doctors she was able to muster provided sufficient answers to alleviate an untenable situation. The next day, I had the test and was released the same evening.
