Alicia was hired originally as a staff nurse in the pre-op/PACU unit. She was always willing to pitch in wherever needed and always had a smile on her face. Her energy is contagious. We, as a team, nominated Alicia to be our charge nurse and she gladly accepted the role. After a short time the team volunteered Alicia to be our assistant nurse manager, she did an "on the spot" interview in front of the whole staff. She took the position even with two small children at home and currently enrolled in a nurse practitioner program. She has excelled in our ANM position and has the support of the whole team. Alicia listens to our concerns and is very open to finding solutions. She will jump in and work on the unit whenever we need her. Alicia also takes many hours of calls to fill in the missing shifts. Alicia is always available and continues to smile and have a positive attitude no matter what the circumstances. She has become the best leader I have worked under in my 30 years of nursing practice. Her growth in that role is evidenced on a daily basis. Thank you, Alicia, for your excellent leadership.
