It has taken me a year to be able to write this since my husband passed away. We were married 46 years. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor and passed away 3 months later. While he was in the ICU, Brian took care of him one day. On that day, we thought that he would pass away. I said I wished that I could lay with him one more time, so he would not die alone in that bed. He said I can fix that. In an instant he adjusted him so I could lay with him, hold him, whisper in his ear things no one else could hear, stroke his hair, lay my head on his chest to hear his heart beat, be his wife and not his caregiver for that one day.
Brian you will never know how much that meant to me. A sweet memory I hold in my heart forever. You let me be a wife again. He did not die that day; he passed away a few days later. Thank you so much for going above and beyond and being there for us.
