John has an excellent work ethic as demonstrated by his ability to collaborate with the Interprofessional team in determining what is best for his patients in terms of quality and safety.
His continuous hard work in making his unit the best has demonstrated what kind of person he is. He strives for excellence and is a role model for his staff in doing this. John is all about making constant improvements to increase quality, safety, and the patient experience on his unit. John works with and encourages his staff to challenge the status quo and review the literature for best practices. He supports his staff in looking at the evidence and implementing changes that help to provide better care for his patients.
John's door is always open. He takes the time to listen to his staff and encourages them to come to him with problems, concerns, and ideas. He supports staff through emergencies, schedule changes, and hard times. He goes above and beyond for his staff and the patients on his unit. He is a constant presence on B3.
John greets his staff members and patients with a positive attitude each day. He promotes a pleasant, enjoyable work environment where qualities of trust, compassion and mutual respect are demonstrated. His positive attitude comes through during stressful and challenging times. John turns these stressors and challenges into opportunities.
John is a leader by example. He helps others grow and learn and is committed to advancing education as evidenced by his achievement of the Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree this fall. John is enthusiastic and engaging. He is always one of the first to volunteer to be on hospital committees. Thank you, John, for all of your clinical and leadership skills as a Nurse Manager at Jefferson Methodist Hospital.
