Nick has been at Parkland over 20 years and meets a standard far above requirement. From the beginning working with him on nights he taught me to care. He taught me during long surgery. Nick makes sure the family is updated because no one wants to worry about their loved ones for 7-12 hours, even if it means sacrificing part of his 30 min lunch break he would update the family.
Nick is ALWAYS there if we get a STAT case, no matter what, he jumps in and does what he can. During my first emergency craniotomy he stayed the entire case to answer any questions. Several years later when I was 9 months pregnant I had an orthopedic case needing x-ray; Nick knew how horrible 50lbs of lead is and wanted to help protect the baby from x-ray so he did most of the case for me during the xray part. He is very concerned with patient safety as well, he double checks everything and makes sure patients are padded and strapped in safely, even during emergency cases.
Nick Bryant gives a level of care for his patients that would make Florence nightingale proud, he is a great teacher, the surgeons love him and he is an overall wonderful person.
