Kathy demonstrates love, compassion and respect to our patients. The first example is of a young woman who was diagnosed and would have to undergo many appointments of treatment. About the second appointment the patient expressed hesitation about transportation so often. Kathy and Deb e. pooled together and gave this patient gas money throughout her treatment. This was prior to Dial-a- ride tokens.
The second example Kathy has been coming in early to meet patients for 1:1 education on their chemo regime; she has been aggressively pursuing educational materials to provide our patients with the most up to date information regarding their disease process and treatments. Kathy takes it upon herself to educate, reading anything and everything she can to provide high quality, informed care to our patients. She is a sponge with our drug reps and Dr. H, always asking questions as to understand how it affects the disease process and/or patient care and prognosis.

Kathy goes above and beyond every day to ensure safe, consistent and effective care to her patients. Working diligently to provide communication and positive collaboration in strengthening the unit as a team. Kathy has volunteered to be the UBC chair, taking the lead in positive change for all involved. She is a wealth of knowledge. Kathy assists with education and is driven to spearhead any changes toward system improvement.
