Alex is a nurse who is known for her gentle nature, even during chaotic times, her kindness towards others, and her thoroughness when caring for patients, making sure their needs are met before she does anything else.

I would like to commend Miss Moore for working with a very difficult patient that required extra attention while being verbally abusive towards the staff, specifically Miss Moore. She handled the situation very admirably and despite the difficulties and frustration, she was able to provide excellent, compassionate care for her patient. -Dr. S.

Somehow, a patient lost their favorite stuffed animal in the trash or dirty linens. Alex searched through dirty bags of linen on the unit before realizing the trash and linen had been taken downstairs already. She proceeded to go downstairs and go through every bag until she actually found the patient's item. That is definitely something that anyone else could have just said: "Aw well, we will call patient relations." Alex knew that item meant a lot to that patient, so she selflessly did what most wouldn't do.
***
She has helped out her coworkers when she didn't have to. She helped when a nurse got tasked with blood cultures and two other labs on two different patients at the change of shift. Without being asked by the nurse, Alex jumped in and said, "What do you want me to do?" to the nurse, even though she was on her way out. Alex was kind, thoughtful, and a true definition of a team player when she volunteered her time.
Best of all, she carries herself in a very humble and soft-spoken manner, especially after being praised. She is a one-of-a-kind person and nurse, and 8 south is very lucky to have her.
