My son who is special needs was transferred from the ICU to the 6th floor North to recover from a critical infection and rash. Our nurse, Christol, took a complete interest in my son's well- being. She noted his arms were quite swollen from so much IV fluids. She told me she wanted to order an ultrasound to rule out any blood clots. I agreed. The result was a clot was found in his left arm and was immediately put on a thinner. I commend Christol for being so "on board" and interested in his case. The results could have been life-threatening. I am so grateful for her presence of mind and trying to do everything and anything for the benefit and care of my son.
