Hillary was caring for a patient on our unit who had a very unfortunate event. This patient ended up staying on our unit much longer than he had intended. While in the hospital, the patient and his wife celebrated their wedding anniversary. Hillary was so sweet to have a few items sent to the patient and wife and delivered to his hospital room. These items may have only cost a few dollars, but they definitely meant something to the couple.

Hillary "Goes above and beyond to make a difference!" There was a patient admitted to the hospital on 5 South following a serious work injury and was hospitalized for 11 days. The patient and spouse were celebrating their 3rd wedding anniversary while the patient was "in-house". After hearing how they traditionally celebrate, Hillary anonymously went and purchased all the "fixings" for a wedding anniversary and had them delivered to the patient's room for a celebration, sparkling grape juice, wine glasses, balloons, etc. with a card wishing them a "joyous celebration" while needing to celebrate in house. The patient and his wife were notably "touched" by this nurse's "caring" awareness of something beyond the patient's medical needs.
