Charles has a very humble nature, a gentle way of speaking, but very thorough with the care given. All requests were met beyond my expectations from night one.
Charles went beyond the expected to the extraordinary. The way he did that was by showing compassion and giving great words of encouragement to the point that I felt inspired that all the pain and illness I have endured is not in vain and there is a higher purpose for all I have encountered. When he shared some personal stories, it made me feel reassured that even though many of us face major odds in life that does not mean it's over for us and a time to quit.
All of his words came at a time that I needed them. I had some moments just prior to being placed in this hospital in which I felt hopeless.
Without him ever knowing that Charles spoke in a gentle way to share his own encounters with others who have also stood in my shoes with bleak outlooks as far as their health goes. Yet, because they refused to give up, to surrender circumstances that would crush most, these people are still alive. I realized everyone's story is different, however, these words are words that truly brought a renewed sense of purpose to my heart and reminded me that no matter how bleak a situation may appear there is always hope.
I am so grateful that this hospital has such a caring nurse like Charles. It is one of the things I will remember long after I am released from the hospital.
