On that day that H was to be discharged, the nursing staff got together to celebrate his recovery. With the help of Katie, Pam, and Jeannie, the 4 medical staff was able to organize a party in the employee break room. The staff pitched in and helped to supply pizza, cake, and beverages. H and his wife were deeply touched by the kind gesture and were temporarily rendered speechless when they entered the break room. H and his wife were presented with gifts to celebrate the occasion. Among the gifts given, there was one that Pam's son had picked our personally. The gift was that of an ornament and not just any ornament, it was a Superman figurine. Pam's son chose this ornament because he felt it symbolized H's recovery. He viewed him as a man who could overcome anything, and after winning his battle with cancer, Pam's son couldn't think of a better comparison than a most powerful man in the universe. It was a beautiful moment. I admire and applaud the 4 medical staff for their support and expertise.
