My mother was admitted to the hospital following a small stroke. Jenny was her nurse both days she was in the hospital. While at Bellevue Med, Jenny exemplified what it means to be a caring and compassionate nurse. I also heard her talking with many other family members in the hallways with the same compassion she did to our family. When we had questions or concerns she was willing to take the time to answer them and calm our worries. Every time she came into the room she was happy and willing to do whatever we needed. Not once did she grumble or complain that we needed her assistance. She treated her fellow co-workers, in the same manner, supporting them and keeping them positive during her entire 12-hour shift.
I can't even put into words how well she cared for Mom and also my dad and me. Jenny is truly dedicated to serving others and is totally committed to enhancing the quality of life when caring for her patients. Jenny showed a great deal of respect for my mother and her needs and also made sure my dad and I had what we needed to make us comfortable as well. Her actions exceeded what we have ever experienced in hospital care. The word thankful came to mind often when she would check on us and care for my mother.
My mother over the last 30 years has been a patient of the Nebraska Medical system having had three cancers over that time period - Hodgkin's, Brain Cancer and Esophageal Cancer. Our family has dealt with literally hundreds of nurses and numerous doctors over this period of time and Jenny is one of the best.
It is with sadness that I write that my mother passed away in her sleep. After many hospital visits over the years, we can say without reservation that her last hospital stay could not have been any better. Between having Jenny for her nurse, we were very blessed with what was her last hospital stay after 30 years. We thank Jenny for all she did and the love she showed us, as she has left a smile on our faces for what she did for us.
