Amy was caring for a very ill patient in the ICU and the family was having a difficult time dealing with the situation. Amy went above and beyond when caring for their loved one. She took the time to explain exactly what she was doing for the patient and educated the family so they had a better idea of what was happening. She was very attentive to both the patient and the patient's family and even offered her own meal for the family when she found out that they had not eaten. Since there is no open location to get food late at night, she sacrificed her own meal for the patient's family. The patient's family expressed gratitude towards Amy even stating that this was the first night they were actually able to get some rest. In a very challenging time, Amy was able to provide some respite for the family while taking excellent care of their loved one!
