Kristian Ontiveros was my nurse twice, and has always shown kindness, compassion, caring, understanding, which helped calm my fears, as we worked to figure out what was wrong with me. She showed great compassion and care with the pain and always had a smile and a calming touch. After one of my surgeries the doctor had her help her clean out the drain and bandage me up. While I was crying, she was just very gentle and reassuring, as she reminded me to breathe and that it would all be OK. I was hurting and very scared and she was just so gentle and calming.
After a long and busy shift, Kristian stayed late, so that she could change the bandages and clean out the drain and show the next nurse how to do it. Please give this award to Kristian as she deserves this and has meant a great deal to me medically and mentally. She is a Hero!
