I was admitted to UnityPoint Proctor Hospital to have reconstructive surgery done. This was my first experience as a patient at Proctor. On my post-surgical floor, I was assigned Amy Mull RN. She impressed me from the first encounter. I found Amy to be very thorough in her assessment and organized in her care delivery. Amy's focused assessment of me, a new surgical patient, was very appreciated.Amy is an intuitive nurse and makes it her priority to understand the needs of her diverse patient load. Amy is very social in nature and spent a little time getting to know me so that she could personalize and customize my needs and care. She carefully pulled my husband into both the hospital care plan as well as the discharge planning process so that expectations were understood and all questions could be answered. Amy brings a lot of energy and enthusiasm to her position, while carefully keeping the patient at the center of her nursing actions and services. Because of Amy, I came away from my hospitalization at Proctor feeling that I had received exceptional care on the surgical floor.
