Taylor's clinical skill and especially her compassionate care exemplify the kind of nurse that our patients, their families and our staff recognize as an outstanding role model. She consistently meets all of the following criteria: patient/family centered, safe patient care, evidence-based practice, collegiality, professionalism, advocacy. She exemplifies the mission and core values. Taylor is an exceptional nurse who exhibits safe patient care on a consistent basis. She is kind and aware. She advocates well. She is compassionate and relates to her patients on a personal level. She is professional and timeless in her ability to exemplify love and kindness especially for the poor and vulnerable through empathetic eyes. I watched her care for an expressively aphasic patient who was confused and incontinent and unsure of his surroundings. A potentially frightening experience for anyone. Yet, she was able to navigate the assessment in such a way that he was all smiles and laughter and felt safe in his unfamiliar surroundings. He was grateful to see her every time she walked in the room. She is an asset to this organization and a joy to work with.
