One night, the aide took our dog, R, for his walk, which they all are so great at taking care of him and that means the world to me. The aide was walking him outside and unfortunately, R got sprayed by a skunk. Luckily, he took the hit and not the aide. When they came back in, he smelled awful. Christina, the night nurse, took over R. She went above and beyond on her lunch and ran to Walmart with her own money and bought the supplies to take care of the smell. She researched the internet and called a 24-hour vet clinic to make sure these regimens were safe for R. When she came back with the supplies, she herself bathed R, gave him a skunk toy and some treats. Christina is so amazing. She made us feel so blessed to be here. She is thoughtful, kind, respectful and so loving. You can tell she takes pride in being a nurse and loves all her patients - humans or pets. She truly went over the moon for us. From one nurse to another, our unit is truly blessed to have Christina on our team. She always has the patient's wellbeing at heart. She is always helping others, listening to every problem and searches for the proper solutions. On multiple occasions during rounds, she is mentioned to me. Christina, thank you for always making our patients feel like they are the only patient and always having time for each of them.
