Pat has been working in the NICU for over 20 years. She is a very skillful and caring RN and provides excellent care to her patients. She is a big part of the discharge planning process by putting together resource books, instructions, and learning material. Pat takes care of our sickest and chronic patients. She is known for maintaining a good relationship with our patients even after discharge, she is still involved with some of our ex-mommies years after their discharge. Pat is also in charge of the bereavement in the NICU. She has found resources for families, including bereavement kits with gowns. After every death, Pat will reach out to families and send them condolence cards. Pat also serves as a preceptor for new employees and nursing students, in addition, she recently helped out with one of the stations at the NICU skills fair. Pat is also a relief charge nurse. We can rely on her running the unit.
