When my husband was admitted, my family and I were still trying to digest the medical information given to us. Ruben was one of his first nurses. Although he had previous nurses that were great, Ruben was able to connect with my husband on another level. Not only was he helpful and compassionate, but he also educated my husband. He helped shed light on his pain management, something we had been battling.
He was relatable and empathetic. Ruben was always attentive and provided conversation and laughter. You don't see many male nurses and I pray we had more in the world such as Ruben. He impacted my husband's stay here at the hospital. Even though he was his nurse for a short time, his serving heart stayed with us and will always be a part of our testimony.
