Lauren is a relatively new employee to our department who has very quickly oriented and assimilated to our OR leaving all staff very impressed with her abilities and talents. On the second day our new OR was open, she was asked to be the circulator on an emergency c-section (not a case we do often in the main OR), she immediately began prioritizing and asking appropriate questions to be quickly prepared for the case. The nursery, L&D and Respiratory Therapy teams were all present and coordinated. This required amazing collaboration due to the fact that this was the second day our new OR suites were open.
Lauren stayed calm, friendly and was helpful to all. Her pleasant disposition was reassuring and appreciated. The c-section was successful and the baby was transferred to the NICU and mom to ICU. The mother’s condition changed and she needed to go back to the OR emergently. Lauren stepped in and prepared the OR with help from others. She stayed calm and worked the case as if it were routine. Lauren’s professionalism, amazing calmness and deep caring was miraculous and astounding.
Remarkable nurse in an exceptional situation. Perfect example of putting the patient first!
