Marilyn Johnson is an outstanding example of warmth and excellent patient care.
She goes above and beyond every day, providing so much attention to details like cleaning under the patient’s fingernails, shaving, washing their hair, etc. She also flips the pillow over to the “cool side” when she turns her patients. These are the little things that tend to get overlooked but can make a patient feel so much better!
She has been a champion for hand hygiene – both for herself and educating all visitors who enter the patients’ rooms about the “Foam in- foam out” rule.
One of the most extraordinary things about Marilyn is her amazing patience, we cannot recall a time when she has lost her cool, even on the toughest of days.
Families and patients consistently make favorable remarks about Marilyn and her ability to empathize with them and help them through difficult times. Marilyn has prayed with patients and families when needed. One of her best skills is communicating accurately and sensitively on the difficult subject of death and dying.
It is very inspiring to be around Marilyn. The most outstanding thing about her is her contagious spirit! There is no other nurse who is more caring, compassionate, respectful, truthful and loyal as she is.
