This nurse is a model of compassion, patient care and professionalism. For starters, she is currently working on her doctoral dissertation. She has continued her education not for financial means, but for the pursuit of nursing excellence. She received her nurse practitioners license in 2007, and since that time has volunteered at local clinics. She uses her knowledge and skill to help the community and further her abilities, without the thought of financial gain. Within Kaiser, she has demonstrated professionalism in all of her capacities. She has worked in ED, MedSurg, and Post Partum where she is a leader on the floor. In all of these roles, she earns the trust and respect of her patients and is especially skilled with children. She is someone that other nurses can look up to as a role model in both her professional and personal life. It is inspiring to see all that she has accomplished, when you realize that she also vigilantly cared for her mother for the past several years until her passing and she is also an outstanding wife and mother. She has proven that a work life balance is not only possible but something worth attaining. I can't think of a better candidate for the value of professionalism.
