Amanda had a patient who had a brain bleed who had just had her baby. This patient was also confined to a wheelchair. She was not able to care for her baby on her own, so the baby had to be in the nursery when her patient was by herself.
Amanda not only gave excellent nursing care to her patient by turning her every two hours and paying attention to her post op needs, but she also took care of her patient’s emotional needs. Her patient wanted to hold her baby in the middle of the night. Amanda went and got her baby even though Amanda was very busy. She then sat in her patient’s room so that her patient could hold her baby. The patient couldn’t say enough about how great and amazing Amanda was. It was inspiring!
