Lisa Ritter, RN 5T200
I first met Lisa on my second night at Bethesda North. It was the day that I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. I hadn’t slept in a week and hadn’t eaten in a week either. She was extremely competent with the clinical skills, but I would like to address her compassion. Because of where my IV had been placed by the ER, I had trouble keeping my IV from being occluded. The IV pump alarm was sounding every time I moved. The alarm went off every 15 minutes. Within seconds of me pressing my call button, she was in my room to take care of the problem. We talked for hours. She was incredible as a listener and always said something reassuring. I would not have made it through that night without Lisa’s help. She took excellent care of me and my wife (who she set up a cot for). She is an asset to the hospital. I will never forget her.
