My husband and I arrived at Tampa General Hospital for his 9:30 pre-op appointment for surgery that was scheduled for a few days later. We were greeted by Mercedes for our appointment. She immediately recognized how sick he was and assured us that we would get through the pre-op process but she said that my husband was too sick to go back home that day. Mercedes took us under her care. She made phone calls and true to her word he did complete his pre-op testing. Then with my husband in a wheelchair, she personally walked us to the ER and took us to the front of the line. I will always remember Mercedes as an incredibly kind and efficient person who went beyond her responsibilities and our expectations that morning. My husband and I knew that he was at the right hospital and under the care of the hospital's caring staff. Thank you.
