I was admitted to your ICU on my birthday and was greeted by RN Nicole Wagner. I was very distraught, and was immediately put at ease and impressed by her friendly and cheerful disposition, her pleasant personality and her professional abilities. I had suffered a great loss of blood, and it was difficult for her to find good veins for starting my IVs; but she was so compassionate, apologetic and seemed truly interested in what she had to do, that I really did not suffer any great discomfort. I knew that I was in good hands and given lots of “tender loving care” (just like the “RN” answer to many of my crossword puzzle questions that I like to work). It was getting near to the end of her shift, but she did not give me the impression that she wanted to hurry and cut short any of the things that she had to do…I’m a “chicken” when it comes hypodermic needles and other IVs, she will never know how relaxing and reassuring it was for me to know that I was in her good hands. She even had me joking about my misfortunes, and that made me feel so much better and less apprehensive too – immediately making me feel that everything was going to be OK – Thank you Nicole!!!!
