Tammy Jackson, a supervisor in the department, helped lead a group to better understand what best practices would be for physicians and nurses as the department went through a time of merging and transition. Tammy utilized meetings and huddles to poll for opinions and then distributed the work to interested individuals.
Tammy is constantly looking out for the staff members she works with by stepping in to help finish a job when things are hectic.
As a physician, whenever I had a question on how or why something is done, she listened respectfully, explained or found out the answer and got back to me.
Tammy is committed to ensuring the care process for patients is the most efficient and positive as it can be. This could be something as simple as offering a patient a cup of coffee, water or soda when the provider is running behind, or walking a patient to the scheduling desk, lab or radiology.
