I was admitted to the ER one evening after first taking an Uber to the doctor's office. I have friends in Madison, but I am here for graduate school, and my family is spread all over the United States. Admittedly, I felt isolated and worried about being in the hospital by myself, even for just a few hours before a friend showed up and eventually my dad could fly in. I consider myself stoic and able to withstand pain, but my partial bowel obstruction showed me that I was no longer in control of my body. I ended up spending a few nights in the hospital, and I had the unique pleasure of Angi being my nurse for most of the day shifts.
This woman is incredibly passionate, friendly, heartwarming, and sincere. My dad was able to fly up from Texas to be with me, and she specifically made sure he was set with anything he needed, from a warm blanket to tea and water. She also was so patient with my needs. It was not a burden at all for her to grab water, get extra pillow, and in fact, I could tell just how much she loved to help and seeing me happy and comfortable. Angi always had a smile on her face, and warmed the room when she walked in. Once I started feeling more like myself, she started joking with us and helped me get my spunk back a bit. One example I smile thinking about is an ongoing joke we had about the midwestern accent, especially because my family is from Texas. At one point, about 6 nurses came in and yelled "Go Badgers!" to my dad and me. We were smiling and laughing, and we know Angi sent them in to brighten our day. She also let us know about cool spots within the hospital to walk around and see, including a pretty garden area. My time in the hospital was infinitely more do-able with Angi as my nurse, and my dad and I agree that she is in the perfect job. I was happy to get back home, but I was indeed sad to be saying goodbye to Angi. She is an incredible nurse.

My dad and I want to sincerely thank you for making a crappy situation, in all senses of the word, whole lot brighter. Your positivity and light-heartedness brightened our room and our entire stay while in the hospital. Your efforts to keep us comfortable went so far, and we appreciate not only nurses like you, but people like you.
If I don't get to take my dad to get cheese curds in Monroe this time around, "you betcha" (insert midwestern accent here), we'll get some next time he's here to visit.
Your joking and solid signs of caring made my time here infinitely easier.
Happy Wedding Anniversary/ Go Badgers!/ thank you for everything!
