I wanted to take a moment to recognize a nurse who went above and beyond in her duties as a nurse while I was in her care. Emily Flora was my night shift nurse for 3 nights of my stay at Johnston-Willis. Even as a new grad nurse, she stood out above all the rest. Emily came to my bedside frequently throughout the evening to not only make sure I was comfortable but also made sure my boyfriend was comfortable too. She made sure my pain was being managed and always followed up within the hour after giving pain meds.
Emily displayed the utmost professionalism throughout my stay and was at all times empathetic, caring, and respectful to my concerns and needs. She truly exemplifies what it means to be a nurse and should be recognized for her actions. She may see it as just doing her job but to myself and my boyfriend, she was a breath of fresh air during my stay. Emily upheld one of the most important things my boyfriend always says, "It takes no effort to be kind", and kind she was without a doubt. She will always be in our memory as the best nurse that took care of me white at Johnston-Willis. Thank you!
