Denise showed compassion with a STEMI patient who was very uncomfortable physically, she had CHF and was hypersensitive to any touch. She had this patient in a comfortable state when most others irritated her. The STEMI team had been activated and we were waiting on our third team member who was stuck in traffic.
We called down to the ED to ask if they could transport the STEMI patient to the Cath lab as we were still trying to set up the room while being down a person. Without hesitation, Denise brought the patient up from the ED. She also helped us move the patient over to the Cath Lab table. It saved a lot of time that could have negatively affected our door-to-balloon time.
We greatly appreciate her commitment to this hospital and our patients. She immensely helped save the Cath Lab time. Clearly this Denise was looking to improve the quality of the patient's care. She showed financial responsibility by helping to reduce the door-to-balloon time. She was also clearly looking to improve patient satisfaction by this very time saving transport to the Cath Lab.
