Christy is a true Florence Nightingale nurse. She was nominated by one of her patients (our first patient nomination in ICU!). The patient was a woman in her late 70s who was discharged to an LTAC. I know Christy from working with her for so many years. I watch her make a connection with her patients right away and she focuses on them as a person. This patient was no exception. Christy helped her wash her face first thing in the morning, got her out of bed to help her healing, all while keeping her pain managed. As a nurse, Christy focuses on what is important, the patient as a person in addition to her excellent clinical skills.
