The empathy was simple and clear and at game time, profound! I will never forget it. Elizabeth was my husband's Cardiac ICU nurse. I was so grateful for her excellent care of B. During her very busy 12-hour shift, she not only took care of B but me as well. She had 2 patients that day, both needing a large amount of attention. The way in which she kept returning so often to check on us made me almost convinced there were two of her. She checked the numbers, repositioned my husband, tried to devise ways to keep his leg in the bed (it kept dropping out) noticed all the small details (a look on B's face had her inquiring if he felt okay) she also asked me (each time) if I needed anything or if she could help me.) She took the trouble to know my name! Not many people are able to do that. Then one night after a late MRI, B was transferred back to CICU. She stayed overtime to help get him transferred from the 4th floor unit to CICU upon seeing me she walked up and hugged me.
