I am a 66-year-old retired teacher. On Friday, I was involved in a serious five-car accident. Three of the cars were totaled, one of them being mine. Six people were taken to the ER with non-threatening injuries. When I arrived after being cared for by EMTs, I was greeted immediately and taken to a treatment room.
My nurse was Chris and he was very professional, as well as kind, compassionate, caring, and most of all, calming. He reassured me from the beginning that everything was going to be ok. Needless to say, I was scared to death. He carefully performed his duties all the while being sure that I was OK.
Because of the number of people transported, the staff was very busy. But they handled themselves very well and made sure that all of the patients were treated fairly. I am sure Chris could sense my anxiety. He was very conscientious and comforting. Nursing can be a very stressful profession and I appreciate all of those who serve. Thank you, Chris, for going the extra mile. I sincerely appreciate your kindness to me.
