My mom was a patient on 4100 with pneumonia. Mom is dependent on her care providers for everything; her tube feedings, her pain control, and her mobility. Her main concern was them maintaining her oxygen levels and her ability to breathe. I cannot imagine what fear she must experience being alone not knowing when someone will come in to answer her light. Not only that, but take the time to listen to her needs.
The nights Marvin worked, my mom was not afraid and was able to rest. Marvin's first night, he developed a relationship with mom and truly listened to her! She felt safe when Marvin was there. She knew what to expect during his shift and that he would handle it.
Mom needed her rest to heal and the next day after a restful night, mom was stronger. Marvin definitely has the Healer's Touch!
