Nominee: Bridget O’Malley
• Job performance exemplifies the mission, vision, and values of St. Jude
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to meet the patient’s needs
• Uses critical thinking skills in the delivery of extraordinary patient care
• Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with peers and co-workers
Bridget is and excellent nurse. She is always willing to help her co-workers. One day we were intubating my patient and she jumped right in to help do tasks, while she gave me the opportunity to chart and catch up on orders. She also stayed late that day to find a chest tube on another floor for the doctor. On a regular day when she has her own patient load, she always asks others if they need help. She is a great resource nurse, she helps and is knowledgeable. I can remember one other time, I had a patient that was very, very busy and Bridget was right there to help me. I had a lot of labs to draw on an infant and the amount of blood needed would exceed the daily maximum blood draw. She called the lab and found out which were most important to draw and what was the minimum that would be expected for those labs. She even collected the labs! She does so much when she is here, that I can’t write it all on these lines but she is an important member of this team.
